What is mental health? Achieving your goals? Mental health and achieving your goals usually go hand in hand. You know your goals; “I want to be sober.” “I want to be happy.” “I want to be a better husband.”

Mental Health and Christian Counseling

Positive mental health, as defined by mentalhealth.gov, is “realizing your full potential, coping with the stresses of life, working productively, and making meaningful contributions to their community.”

Christian Counseling helps with seeing your full potential. God always sees the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ on you, even while you are changing. This is hopeful and encouraging: changing and perfect.

Stresses of life can be coped with; but nothing necessarily must change to experience God’s peace amid anxiety. Christian counseling is learning to help someone practically with the stresses of life and help remind him or her of truth.

Working productively is very important. You are designed for work; and you are designed for rest. Christian counseling in Fort Worth affirms that while you are working you can rest. You no longer must work your way into resting!

Lastly, you are making meaningful contributions to your community when you love people. Only Jesus Christ can help you love the good and the difficult people in your life.

Christian Counseling Can Help Mental Health Problems

Christian counseling and positive mental health help you see reality during addiction, anxiety, depression, difficult relationships, etc. This means that things are not out of control while you are working on your goals. Therefore, Christian counseling goes deeper with a client, helping the client practically and carefully reminding him of truth.

Be encouraged by the verses below

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” – Psalm 32:1

“Fear not, little flock, for it is your father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” – Luke 12:32

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I hear a loud voice from the throne saying, Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, I am making everything new!” – Revelation 21:1-5
