Sarah McDonald joins the team at Fort Wellness Counseling with a passion for helping people and developing long-term and lasting relationships.  Sarah has been in long term recovery since 2010 and has made it her mission to help get people help with both Substance Abuse and Mental Health related problems. She has worked at one of the best treatment centers in the state for over a decade – helping countless numbers of individuals and families get the help they desperately need. Sarah attended college at the University of Texas San Antonio, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Communication with a Public Relationships Emphasis and a minor in Marketing.  After college, she was accepted to and graduated from General Electric’s Sales and Leadership program.   After going through treatment in 2010, she knew she wanted to make a difference in the treatment world. She went through the Institute of Chemical Dependent Studies and finished her coursework for her LCDC and started her journey in the Behavioral Health and Addiction field.  

What makes Sarah stand out is her ability to connect with people. At Fort Wellness Counseling, Sarah will be working as a Recovery Coach and Treatment Placement Specialist, helping individuals and families be the best version of themselves.  She specializes in helping individuals that are wanting to make progress with alcohol use .  She can help families as a Treatment Placement Specialist trying to navigate different treatment options throughout the nation. 

When she isn’t out working helping people, Sarah enjoys spending time with her Husband and three children that range in age from 17 to 4.  She has a knack for cooking, enjoys working out and loves exploring new places. Sarah volunteers with The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, The Girls Scouts of Texas, Aledo Lions Club Youth Basketball Association, and is on the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) for Vanagriff Elementary in Aledo ISD. She was a founder of the Life Recovery Group at Doxology Bible Church in Fort Worth where she still helps lead on Sunday mornings.
