Wellness and Recovery Guide

Sarah McDonald

Sarah McDonald

Sarah McDonald joins the team at Fort Wellness Counseling with a passion for helping people and developing long-term and lasting relationships.  Sarah has been in long term recovery since 2010.  She has made it her mission to assist people that need help with addiction and mental health related problems. Sarah attended college at the University of Texas San Antonio, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in communication with a public relations emphasis and a minor in Marketing.  After college, she was accepted to and graduated from General Electric’s Sales and Leadership program.   After going through treatment in 2010, she knew she wanted to make a difference in the treatment world. She went through the Institute of Chemical Dependent Studies and finished her coursework for her LCDC and started her journey in the Behavioral Health and Addiction field.

Sarah provides mentoring and support to someone early in recovery from addiction or to a person who is stuck in their recovery. She offers a safe environment with accountability and direction and will work in conjunction with a therapist to provide added support to those who want to get more out of their recovery program.

What makes Sarah stand out is her ability to connect with people. At Fort Wellness Counseling, Sarah will be working as a Wellness and Recovery Guide, helping individuals and families on their recovery and wellness journey.  She can also help families that need assistance or extra support with navigating the different treatment options.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her Husband and three children that range in age from 17 to 4.  She has a knack for cooking, enjoys working out and loves exploring new places. Sarah volunteers with The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, The Girls Scouts of Texas, Aledo Lions Club Youth Basketball Association, and is on the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) for Vanagriff Elementary in Aledo ISD. She was also the founder of the Life Recovery Group at Doxology Bible Church in Fort Worth and is the co-facilitator of the Fort Worth Psychotherapist Network.  Sarah can be reached by phone at 361-290-6580 or email at sarah@fortwellness.com.  If you are looking for some extra support, reach out to Sarah to see how she can help support you and your family.
